  |   Typically, we post our Stock Market Report every Monday, looking back at the previous week, and forecasting what may happen during the week ahead with regard to fantasy football player value. However, a mid-week special edition is in order after recent events at Broncos training camp…
Rising - Selvin Young, Broncos RB - The second year man who eclipsed the 700 yard plateau last season in limited reps, is now looking a sure-fire bet to enter the year as the team’s number one running back. Teammate Ryan Torain, a rookie fifth round pick out of Arizona State, went down today with an elbow injury that was later diagnosed as fracture. Torain will miss six to eight weeks, meaning Young is for sure the starter and featured back throughout almost the first half of the NFL season. This means Young warrants a fourth or fifth round draft choice in all league formats, especially those that do not award points for receptions. Mike Shanahan will need the ground game through the first three weeks of the season, as Brandon Marshall will be out due to a suspension. Young will be a solid RB2 in 12 team leagues during the beginning of 2008.
Falling - Ryan Torain, Broncos RB - If you read above, than you knew this was coming. The fifth round pick from Arizona State had been impressing coaches and teammates in training camp, and Shanny even came out and said he was a sure fire first round talent. Now that he’s out for six to eight weeks, seasonal owners should avoid him. He retains some dynasty value, but should now be a fourth round pick in rookie-only drafts, rather than a late second rounder, which is where we had him projected when healthy.
