Things Looking Up For Earnest Graham?Buccaneers 29 year old RB Earnest Graham was extremely productive for the first half of the 2008 NFL season, rushing for 563 yards and four TDs through Week 9. He even chipped in and played fullback when the team had injury issues. However, Graham suffered injury issues of his own, missing the team’s final seven games due to ankle surgery. Apparently there’s new hope for him in 2009 - find out why.

Rising - Earnest Graham, Buccaneers RB - Just when it seemed the Bucs would surely bring in one or two running backs this off-season, due to injuries to Graham, Cadillac Williams, and the age of Warrick Dunn, apparently Graham as a new, important fan. Bucs new offensive coordinator Jeff Jagodzinski - former Packers OC and Boston College head coach - recently told media that he absolutely loves Graham and feels he’s the perfect fit for the zone blocking scheme he’s about to implement in Tampa. Graham is still rehabbing from season-ending ankle surgery, but Jags’ comments give his owners some hope for a fantasy comeback in 2009. We’re still not sure how we feel about Graham, but there’s no question this news gives his immediate value a boost.

Rising - Anthony Gonzalez, Colts WR - We’ve jocked AGonzo for the past two seasons, as he’s shown flashes of brilliance in Indy’s offense, importantly earning the confidence and trust of Peyton Manning. With the news that the Colts are likely to release Marvin Harrison, Gonzo’s fantasy value has and will continue to skyrocket. He’s capable of starting opposite Reggie Wayne if Indy doesn’t address the outside position, but even if he continues to play a slot role, he’ll be targeted much more with Harrison gone.

Rising - DeSean Jackson, Eagles WR - We’re HUGE DeSean Jackson fans, folks - and we’ve already jocked him pretty darn hard this off-season. However, Eagles GM Tom Heckart gave us another reason to jock Jackson the other day when he told the media that the Eagles don’t need to go out and get a number one WR in free agency, because they’ve already got one in DeSean Jackson. Dynasty owners need to pay attention to how fast he climbs up our rankings leading into August.

Falling - Marvin Harrison, Colts WR - Word is that the Colts can save roughly $6-$7 million in cap space by releasing the 36 year old veteran this off-season. We expect Indy to cut ties with him, and we wouldn’t be surprised if he simply retires and doesn’t even try to play elsewhere.

Falling - Laveraunes Coles, Jets WR - The Jets 31 year old WR has been injury prone each of the last two seasons, and is now facing a serious challenge - his fourth QB in as many seasons. If Coles was frustrated with Brett Favre, we anticipate more frustration if he has to help along young players like Kellen Clemens, Brett Ratliff and Erik Ainge.
