Rodgers vs. Cutler

April 2, 2009

Rodgers vs. CutlerThere’s a very interesting debate brewing on our forums, regarding who the best dynasty option is at quarterback between a pair of 25 year olds - Denver’s Jay Cutler and Green Bay’s Aaron Rodgers. According to our 2009 Dynasty QB Rankings, Cutler is the man to own, but as you’ll read - there’s more to this than meets the eye. Read more

Guess Who’s Back? Benson & Davenport.

October 1, 2008

Guess Whos Back? Benson & Davenport. Week 5 has been full of surprises thus far - and returns. Upon the placement of rookie Rashard Mendenhall on injured reserve due to a fractured left shoulder, the Steelers have brought back a familiar face. The Bengals also made an interesting move, bringing in a 25 year old former fourth overall draft pick. Read more

Week 4 Injury Scares

September 28, 2008

Week 4 Injury Scares Two of fantasy football’s hottest players thus far in 2008 were injured in Week 4. Cardinals WR Anquan Boldin was sandwiched between two Jets defenders in the end zone and it appeared that his neck snapped. He was carted off the field and taken to a local hospital. Packers QB Aaron Rodgers suffered a right shoulder injury and was barely able to finish Green Bay’s loss against Tampa. Read more

Caught Riding The Pine?

September 16, 2008

Caught Riding The Pine? Broncos WR Eddie Royal did it again. He followed up his nine catch, 146 yard debut with a five catch, 37 yard performance, including a game winning TD – two-point conversion combo. Even though Brandon Marshall dominates the eye of Jay Cutler, Royal remains a top target on a team that is destined for a shootout against the Saints. Even though he’s likely been left fantasy on benches this season, Royal is a must-start in Week 3. Read more

We Were Right About, We Were Wrong About

September 14, 2008

We Were Right About, We Were Wrong About Many of our off-season predictions are coming true folks. As we suspected, not only is it the year of the rookie RB, but Darren McFadden has taken the lead in the race, with more than 160 yards and a score in Week 2. LT looks like a flop, and Adrian Peterson remains solid. Many of our Week 2 specific predictions were spot on as well folks, as Aaron Rodgers led the way among QBs with 328 yards and three TDs. Week 2 - Who We Like, Who We Dislike

September 12, 2008

Week 2 - Who We Like, Who We Dislike As Sunday gets closer, Week 2 gets crazier and crazier. Marques Colston is already out, Brian Griese has been named the starter in Tampa over Jeff Garcia, and now Packers RB Ryan Grant - among others - looks somewhat questionable for Sunday’s games. However, there are still a few things we can pinpoint in terms of what we like and dislike about Week 2. Read more

VJax Is Ready For A Breakout Season Our sources tell us that San Diego Chargers 6′5″, 241 lb. WR Vincent Jackson is primed and ready for an absolutely huge statistical campaign in 2008, despite the fact that he’s yet to play in the preseason due to injury. Read more

Fantasy Impact: Brett Favre Returns

August 4, 2008

Fantasy Impact: Brett Favre Returns Well, the situation we’ve been waiting for a while to write about finally appears like it has a resolution. 38 year old Brett Favre has officially returned to Green Bay for training camp. An “open competition” will apparently start today for the Packers starting QB gig - and if it does, there’s no question who will win. Read more

Philip Rivers’ Knee Ready For 2008

July 21, 2008

Philip Rivers Knee Ready For 2008 Many fantasy football owners have asked us about Philip Rivers’ status this off-season. The concern is that Rivers underwent reconstructive knee surgery this off-season after basically losing his entire ACL via playing through a serious injury in the AFC Championship game against New England. Packers Still Looking For A QB?

June 20, 2008

Apparently the Green Bay Packers offered Daunte Culpepper a one-year, $1 million deal earlier this off-season, that he turned down. Also, former Jags QB Quinn Gray recently visited the Packers, but was not offered a deal. Gray was recently released by the Texans, after he was deemed not a fit for their offense. Gray has no fantasy value.

At this point, even though the Packers are set with Aaron Rodgers as their starter, and Brian Brohm and Matt Flynn as competitors for the future, we wouldn’t be surprised if Green Bay continued to pursue a signal caller with some experience.

Rodgers Rocking Mullet: “I’m The Man”

June 7, 2008

In a great interview with Rich Eisen and Brian Baldinger on NFL Network, new Packers starting QB Aaron Rodgers admitted to trying to rock a mullet hairstyle, saying “it’s business in the front and a party in the back.” When asked about possible competition from rookie second rounder Brian Brohm, Rodgers said “I’m the man…they just decided to add a back-up via the draft.”

We believe him, and have faith that the supporting cast around him in 2008 will allow for him to succeed. He’s a solid fantasy QB2 in all leagues - bar none.

No Difference Between Favre & Rodgers…

May 22, 2008

Or so says veteran WR Donald Driver. The pass catcher recently told the media that the transition from Brett Favre to Aaron Rodgers has been “seamless.” We expect there to be some bumps, but for Green Bay to have one of the NFL’s best offenses in 2008.

If Driver is correct, both he and Rodgers will be awesome fantasy options in 2008.
