Randle El: “I Could Out Run A Bear”
May 22, 2008
In easily the most ridiculous sports-related conversation my ears have ever heard, Antwaan Randle El told ESPN news that he could return a kick for a touchdown against a bear.
In his defense, he was baited into this conversation by the anchors on ESPN, who were continuing a comment that baseball analyst Tim Kurkjian made a week ago. ESPN actually interviewed a “bear expert” and Randle El at the same time.
The “bear expert” said that his bear can run 35 MPH, while the fastest human ever has only run 27 MPH. Randle El and Kurkjian are adamant that the NFL kick returner would win the battle, due to the fact that NFL players could “out juke” the bear, and would be running for their lives.
Ridiculous.
If the bear owner knew anything about football, he would have mentioned Randle El’s recent knee surgery and used that against his argument.
Antwaan Randle El Injury Update…
May 20, 2008
Redskins WR Antwaan Randle El underwent arthroscopic knee surgery early in May, and is expected to begin running within the next couple weeks. He should be ready by training camp, but the ‘Skins have no reason to rush him back after acquiring Devin Thomas and Malcolm Kelly in the NFL Draft.
Thomas puts a huge damper on Randle El’s fantasy potential.
Antwaan Randle El Has Knee Surgery…
May 6, 2008
Redskins WR Antwaan Randle El underwent arthroscopic knee surgery on Monday, but should be ready for Organized Team Activities in a few weeks. Head Coach Jim Zorn was not concerned at all about the procedure.
Could this explain why the ‘Skins took Devin Thomas and Malcolm Kelly in the second round of the 2008 NFL Draft?
