March 28, 2009

Out With The Old WRs - In With The NewYear after year, many seasonal fantasy owners have a tendency to draft the same old wide receivers in the mid and late rounds. Guys like Derrick Mason, Donald Driver, Isaac Bruce, Muhsin Muhammad and Chris Chambers have been staples, but there’s a new crop of younger players with much higher upside that owners should pay attention to. Legit WR Options Blossoming

February 4, 2009

Legit WR Options BlossomingA year ago, Chargers WR Vincent Jackson began to springboard his career during the NFL playoffs, catching 18 balls for 300 yards and two TDs in three games. He parlayed that performance into a very solid 59 catch, 1,098 yard, seven TD season in 2008, becoming San Diego’s number one WR. Two players will follow in his footsteps in 2009. Read more

DeSean Jackson Still Sidelined With Hammy…

June 10, 2008

Eagles rookie WR DeSean Jackson still remains sidelined with a hamstring injury. He’s now missed almost three straight weeks, which doesn’t bode well for his fantasy potential, as all rookie WRs need all the practice time they can get.

Jackson, a second round speedster from Cal, will compete to be the team’s starting kick returner, as well as the third receiver. Jason Avant is his primary competition for the ladder.

Ranking 2008 Rookie WRs

June 5, 2008

limas-sweed-steelers.jpgSurprisingly, St. Louis’ Donnie Avery was the first WR selected in the 2008 NFL Draft. The speedy route runner from the University of Houston came out of nowhere to become the 33rd overall pick. Just because he was the first pass catcher taken, doesn’t mean it’ll translate to the stat column in 2008. Limas Sweed, however, was the ninth pass catcher taken, and his fantasy value is looking pretty solid heading into 2008. Each season there’s at least one rookie WR who steps up his game and becomes fantasy worthy in his first season, and believe it or not, there is a rhyme or reason to predicting which one it’ll be. Lastly, sometimes contract situations that become resolved this time of year can shed a whole new light on players. Read more

Eagles Love DeSean Jackson…

May 2, 2008

Word is that the Philadelphia Eagles will be designing several plays for DeSean Jackson to get the rock from the WR spot this year. He’s also expected to return punts. While he may not start over Reggie Brown and Kevin Curtis, expect him to see the field a lot for a rookie, and have solid dynasty value.

Top Dynasty League Rookie Prospects

April 30, 2008

darren-mcfadden-raiders.jpgSince the completion of the 2008 NFL Draft, the number one question that I’ve been asked by fantasy owners is - “how do you rank this year’s rookies for dynasty drafts?” Obviously, this is a very different question than asking - “which rookies will have the best statistical seasons in 2008?” Read more

DeSean Jackson Falls To Eagles In Round 2…

April 26, 2008

Could there be a better fit than DeSean Jackson to the Eagles in round two? The Cal speedster was supposed to be a first round pick this year, but the Eagles passed on him in round one only to see him fall to them in round two. He’ll be the apple of Donovan McNabb’s eye, beating defenders deep with his speed constantly. He’s someone who can blaze on the outside, or run slot routes on the inside.

His fantasy upside his very high.
