Fantasy Impact: Ryan Grant Last week, we told you not to be worried about the potential holdouts of Packers RB Ryan Grant, and Rams RB Steven Jackson. Well, we are right about one of them already, now there’s only one to go - but we’re still not worried about him either. Read more

August 7, 2008

In our second mid-week special edition of the Stock Market Report, the trade that we predicted - Brett Favre to the Jets - has rocked the face of fantasy football in many ways. Had he been dealt to Tampa Bay, it really wouldn’t have made as big of an impact, but check out what one of the best QBs of all time moving to the Big Apple does… Read more

In the ultimate He-Man (us bragging about ourselves), we take this opportunity to continuously jock ourselves and tire our arms out from patting ourselves on the back for making the prediction of the year. Just another reason why No-Offseason.com is your source for all things NFL and Fantasy Football - year-round. He-Man.

Fantasy Impact: Brett Favre Returns

August 4, 2008

Fantasy Impact: Brett Favre Returns Well, the situation we’ve been waiting for a while to write about finally appears like it has a resolution. 38 year old Brett Favre has officially returned to Green Bay for training camp. An “open competition” will apparently start today for the Packers starting QB gig - and if it does, there’s no question who will win. Read more

Brett Favre To Be Traded To Jets?

July 8, 2008

favre-nfl.jpg By now you’ve read plenty regarding former Packers QB Brett Favre and his potential return to the National Football League. SI’s Peter King recently reported that Favre’s agent Bus Cook could  write a letter to Green Bay asking that Favre be removed from the reserved/retired list. It’s what would follow that remains a mystery. Read more

A Third Brandon Enters The Picture

July 3, 2008

brandon-jackson.jpgEvery fantasy owner knows the names Brandon Marshall and Brandon Jacobs, but do they know the name Brandon Jackson? The 2007 second round pick from Nebraska failed to impress as a rookie, but find out why you better learn about him heading into 2008. Read more

A.J. Hawk Improving Greatly This Off-Season…

June 21, 2008

Word out of Green Bay is that weakside linebacker A.J. Hawk is working his butt off this off-season, after having what he feels like was a sub par individual season last year. The third year LB from Ohio State has reportedly worked on developing better pass rushing techniques, according to the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel.

No-Offseason Take: Green Bay should continue to have a solid defensive line in 2008, and the strength of their offense should obviously help their defense by putting them in better positions to succeed. Hawk was overshadowed by MLB Nick Barnett last season, and even SS Atari Bigby stole tackles from him. We expect Hawk to establish his own identity in 2008, and become more of an IDP factor.

Jason Taylor To Green Bay Packers?

June 20, 2008

ESPN’s John Clayton is reporting that Jason Taylor is unlikely to be dealt to the Packers.

No-Offseason Take: Green Bay had reportedly inquired about Taylor earlier in the week. His IDP value would increase in full service leagues with a move back to a 4-3 team.

Packers Still Looking For A QB?

June 20, 2008

Apparently the Green Bay Packers offered Daunte Culpepper a one-year, $1 million deal earlier this off-season, that he turned down. Also, former Jags QB Quinn Gray recently visited the Packers, but was not offered a deal. Gray was recently released by the Texans, after he was deemed not a fit for their offense. Gray has no fantasy value.

At this point, even though the Packers are set with Aaron Rodgers as their starter, and Brian Brohm and Matt Flynn as competitors for the future, we wouldn’t be surprised if Green Bay continued to pursue a signal caller with some experience.

Jason Taylor To The Packers?

June 19, 2008

Apparently, the Green Bay Packers have made some under the table inquiries about Dolphins 34 year old defensive end Jason Taylor, according to Rotoworld.

They also point out that there could be a need opposite Aaron Kampman, with Cullen Jenkins potentially moving to tackle, and Kabeer Gbiaja-Biamila recovering from knee surgery.

If Taylor is dealt to a 4-3 team like the Packers, his fantasy value would definitely see an increase in leagues that require starters at defensive end.

Packers’ Ryan Grant Continues To Sit Out…

June 18, 2008

25 year old Packers standout RB Ryan Grant continues to attend Packers practice, but sit out due to contract negotiations. We’ve always said he’s one of the smartest RBs in the NFL, and we think this proves it.

There’s absolutely no reason for him to practice prior to July if he’s seeking a new deal. Unlike Tampa’s Earnest Graham and New York’s Plaxico Burress, Grant is handling this the right way with management.

Yes, Brandon Jackson is getting more reps right now due to Grant sitting out, but ultimately, Grant will get a deal done and be the Packers clear cut starter and featured back again in 2008. We believe he’s worthy of a first round pick on all formats.

Brandon Jackson Beefs Up…

June 9, 2008

Word out of Packers practices is that second year RB Brandon Jackson, a second round pick in 2007, has beefed up from 205 lbs. to 220 lbs. in an effort to take on a bigger role in 2008. We reported in Our Sources Tell Us that Jackson is looking very solid running with the first team while Ryan Grant figures out his contract situation. Expect Jackson to win the back-up job and become Grant’s primary handcuff.
