Week 9 was a crazy one, as a few struggling superstars bounced back and had great games, while other guys who were on a roll, just couldn’t keep it up. Buccaneers QB Situation…
June 20, 2008
FFChamps is reporting that the Tampa Bay Buccaneers favor Luke McCown over Brian Griese as Jeff Garcia’s back-up right now.
No-Offseason Take: Much will happen between now and Week 1. While Garcia is expected to be the starter, it’s clear that Jon Gruden is still really searching for his franchise QB. Expect rookie Josh Johnson to get some preseason looks, and don’t be surprised if Gruden tries to swap out Chris Simms for another signal caller during training camp.

Earnest Graham, Jeff Garcia Disgruntled…
May 20, 2008
The Buccaneers OTAs have rolled right along without last year’s starting RB Earnest Graham and starting QB Jeff Garcia. Both players are unhappy with their current contract situations, and while Graham has not showed up to practice, Garcia has attended but is likely to skip out at some point.

Jeff Garcia Could Hold Out…
May 15, 2008
The Tampa Tribune is reporting that QB Jeff Garcia could hold out of training camp this season. The 38 year old apparently wants a new deal.
Yeah, he’s played well, but he should be happy to be in the freaking league. His contract of $7 million this season seems fair to us, and his comments about needing more “respect from the top” are a bit ridiculous.
This could be one of the reasons that GM Bruce Allen has held on to so many QBs.
