Welcome Back Steve Smith

September 17, 2008

Welcome Back Steve Smith Broncos WR Brandon Marshall returned from his one game suspension to the tune of 18 receptions for 166 yards and a TD in Week 2 against San Diego. Don’t think for a second that Panthers fiery wide receiver Steve Smith wasn’t licking his chops thinking of his Week 3 return from suspension against the Minnesota Vikings. Read more

Caught Riding The Pine?

September 16, 2008

Caught Riding The Pine? Broncos WR Eddie Royal did it again. He followed up his nine catch, 146 yard debut with a five catch, 37 yard performance, including a game winning TD – two-point conversion combo. Even though Brandon Marshall dominates the eye of Jay Cutler, Royal remains a top target on a team that is destined for a shootout against the Saints. Even though he’s likely been left fantasy on benches this season, Royal is a must-start in Week 3. Read more

Fantasy Impact: DeAngelo Williams

August 12, 2008

Fantasy Impact: DeAngelo Williams We love saying “I told you so.” After all, that’s the business we’re in, right? Helping you win your fantasy leagues. We should be able to say “I told you so” quite a bit. One point we have not waivered on - even when many have - is that DeAngelo Williams will be the starting and featured back for the Carolina Panthers in 2008. Experts Draft: There’s Value In Round 5

June 19, 2008

calvin-johnson.jpgThroughout our entire experts draft, I’ve been stressing the importance behind waiting until round five to take a quarterback. As you’ll see, there are plenty of top signal callers available at this point in our draft. However, QB isn’t the only position where value can be found, as Detroit’s Calvin Johnson, Kansas City’s Dwayne Bowe and Green Bay’s Greg Jennings are all top young WRs who flew off the board in round five. More On Jonathan Stewart…

May 29, 2008

If you’ve followed our content closely this off-season, you know that we’re not really that high on Panthers rookie RB Jonathan Stewart in terms of him making a real fantasy impact - due to the presence of DeAngelo Williams.

However, Rotoworld reports that one of the Panthers beat writers is saying that Stewart will handle the bulk of the rushing load this year for Carolina. We still find this very hard to believe, and we like rookie backs like Darren McFadden, Rashard Mendenhall, Kevin Smith, Matt Forte and Chris Johnson much better than Stewart.

Keep in mind, just a few weeks ago, Stewart was pegged as Carolina’s primary kick returner - not the job of a featured RB.

Jonathan Stewart Injury Update…

May 28, 2008

Panthers RB Jonathan Stewart is no longer in his walking boot, and is expected to be fully healthy by July training camp.

The bad news is that he’ll miss all of June practices due to classes still being in session at Oregon. It’s admirable that he isn’t leaving school, but his absence will definitely affect the impact he’ll be able to make right away. We believe Stewart will have a learning curve at the pro level.

Tie Goes To The Raider

May 19, 2008

darren-mcfadden-minicamp-2.jpgWe’ve made it pretty clear how we feel about Raiders rookie RB Darren McFadden as a dynasty prospect, ranking him in our top 15 overall players. We’ve also have made it obvious that he’s the best seasonal rookie running back prospect. That’s why, at the conclusion of our recent No-Offseason Reader’s Poll, we’ve given the edge to D-Mac, even though just as many readers thought Jonathan Stewart was a better investment in 2008.
