June 2, 2009

2009 Fantasy Comeback Players Of The YearEdgerrin James did it in 2003 after two tough, injury-plagued years. Clinton Portis did it in 2007, and even Javon Walker did it in 2006. What exactly were these guys and others able to do that players like Marvin Harrison and Larry Johnson, weren’t able to last year? Read more

Dipping Dynasty Value

December 3, 2008

Dipping Dynasty Value This time of year, fantasy owners are usually doing one of a few things – either preparing for a playoff run, moping around and fussing because their team “barely” missed the playoffs, or – in the case of dynasty owners – scouting which players will potentially breakout down the road, and evaluating those that may be on the downturn of their statistical careers. Winslow Says He Can’t Be Stopped…

July 22, 2008

When recent asked about his knee surgeries over the past few seasons, Browns tight end Kellen Winslow said that regardless of the amount of surgeries he’s had, that “no one will stop him from reaching his dream.”

Well, good for you Winslow, way to he-man yourself in the face of injury.

We believe him, and recommend fantasy owners take a good long look at him in the fourth round of seasonal drafts. This places his dynasty value at virtually untradeable at this time.

Kellen Winslow To Sign New Deal Soon…

June 13, 2008

All indications are that Browns TE Kellen Winslow will get a new deal done with the Cleveland Browns very soon. Winslow has been looking for a lucrative contract extension all off-season.

Rotoworld reports that Winslow’s agent Drew Rosenhaus has been in contact with the Browns recently about a new deal.

See where Winslow ranks in our top TEs for 2008.

Kellen Winslow Looks Great In Practice…

June 11, 2008

We’ve been extremely confident in the health of Browns TE Kellen Winslow for quite some time now and we have not waivered on our stance. He is our second overall tight end in most formats, and will improve upon his numbers yet again in 2008.

Winslow returned to Browns practice yesterday, but took part in several drills today, and reportedly caught a 40 yard TD pass from Brady Quinn. Consider Winslow a full go in all formats, and he’s worthy of a late fourth to early fifth round pick in PPR leagues.

Kellen Winslow To Report Today…

June 10, 2008

Word is that Browns TE Kellen Winslow will report to Browns mandatory mini-camp today. Winslow has been recovery from an off-season procedure to clean up some things in his knees. We have no worries about Winslow’s status heading into 2008. We believe he’ll be totally healthy, and the fact that he plays in one of the NFL’s most up and coming, explosive offenses, makes him a top two TE in all formats.

Antonio Gates Still Not Running…

June 3, 2008

Is anyone else as concerned about the health of Antonio Gates as we are? He hasn’t even begun running since having toe surgery in February, despite shedding his walking boot almost a full month ago.

This has lingering issue written all over it, and we’re cautioning owners against taking him too high in seasonal formats. Jason Witten and Kellen Winslow are better options at this point, and Gates is expected to miss most of August. Reports that “he’ll be ready by Week 1″ don’t ease our minds about him.

Several Veterans Won’t Skip Mini-Camp…

May 30, 2008

We’re hearing that guys like Chicago’s Brian Urlacher, New Orleans’ Marques Colston and Cincy’s T.J. Houshmandzadeh, and even Miami’s Jason Taylor and Arizona’s Anquan Boldin and Edgerrin James will not skip upcoming mandatory mini-camps in June.

This is a tell-tale sign that this “voluntary” off-season stuff doesn’t hold much weight with some guys.

It’ll be interesting to see if Cleveland’s Kellen Winslow shows up in Cleveland as well. We believe he will.
