Out With The Old RBs - In With The New
March 22, 2009
Sometimes seasonal owners have a tendency to rely on the same old trusty guys that have had big games for them in the past. In the past, being conservative was a solid idea on draft day, but in many cases it’s necessary to get with the times and anticipate who the younger, up-and-coming players are - especially at the running back position. Guys who have produced consistently in the past, like Thomas Jones, Jamal Lewis, Larry Johnson, Willie Parker, LaDainian Tomlinson and Brian Westbrook - are all nearing the end of the line in terms of fantasy production. LaDainian Tomlinson To Be Traded?
January 23, 2009
Recent spats via the media between soon to be 30 year old Chargers RB LaDainian Tomlinson and Chargers GM A.J. Smith have led some folks to believe that L.T. could be traded this off-season. Honestly, whether he’s traded or not, he doesn’t have much left in the tank and San Diego better think about a replacement very soon.
We wouldn’t be surprised to see L.T. do a Shaun Alexander/Edgerrin James tank job in 2009, meaning San Diego needs to either sign UFA Darren Sproles, draft a lead back in April, or go after a guy like Michael Bush or Ray Rice via trade.

Dipping Dynasty Value
December 3, 2008
This time of year, fantasy owners are usually doing one of a few things – either preparing for a playoff run, moping around and fussing because their team “barely” missed the playoffs, or – in the case of dynasty owners – scouting which players will potentially breakout down the road, and evaluating those that may be on the downturn of their statistical careers. We Were Right About, We Were Wrong About
September 14, 2008
Many of our off-season predictions are coming true folks. As we suspected, not only is it the year of the rookie RB, but Darren McFadden has taken the lead in the race, with more than 160 yards and a score in Week 2. LT looks like a flop, and Adrian Peterson remains solid. Many of our Week 2 specific predictions were spot on as well folks, as Aaron Rodgers led the way among QBs with 328 yards and three TDs. LT Campaigns To Be No. 1 Fantasy Pick…
July 17, 2008
You know that fantasy football - which is now an $800 million industry in America - has really made it when one of the NFL’s best players and 2006 NFL MVP LaDainian Tomlinson is actually out campaigning to be the number one pick in 2008 Fantasy Football drafts.
The following He-Mannish quote was taken from a recent USA Today article, which explains the whole deal…
“I should be the No. 1 pick because I’m proven,” Tomlinson told The Associated Press during the start of the tongue-in-cheek “LT in ‘08″ media blitz promoting [some loser wannabe's site]’s fantasy games. “I’ve been doing it for a while and have experience helping owners win their leagues. I got a good track record, and I’ll be ready on day one.”
Sorry LT - ahem, I mean He-Man, but we have endorsed Minnesota’s Adrian Peterson as our official number one overall draft choice in 2008, regardless of league scoring format.
Special thanks to loyal No-Offseason.com reader and forum member, MahSoonerz, for providing us with this addition of “He-Man.”
Experts Draft: Moss Is Our 1st Choice
June 12, 2008
One of our favorite parts about June through August is taking part in several seasonal drafts in fantasy football expert leagues. Not only are they highly competitive, but they’re extremely useful in learning about new trends and analyzing different draft strategies and player values. In Fantasy Football Indepth’s expert challenge, No-Offseason.com went head-to-head with publications like Rotoworld.com, Pro Football Weekly, CBSSports.com, Athlon Sports, FantasyGuru.com, USA Today, Fanball.com and more. With the seventh overall choice in the first round, we had a tough decision, but decided to go WR first and roll with New England’s Randy Moss. Read more
Lorenzo Neal To Sign With Cowboys?
June 10, 2008
Word is that 15 year veteran fullback Lorenzo Neal, who was released this off-season by the San Diego Chargers, is looking to sign on with an NFL team somewhere, and Dallas has been mentioned as a possibility.
We believe that Neal’s absence could negatively affect Ladainian Tomlinson’s value this season, and if Neal signed on with Dallas, Marion Barber would end up having one of the best blocking fullbacks of all time clearing the way for him.
