NFL Free Agency: Collateral EffectsAs the NFL Free Agency period continues, more and more names continue to end up in new places, not only affecting their own fantasy value, but also that of players they join, or leave behind in previous stops. We call these collateral effects - and it’s important you take them very seriously. Read more

March 5, 2009

The Off-Season Action ContinuesThe NFL Free Agency action continued as 35 year old talented veteran WR Terrell Owens was released by the Cowboys early Thursday morning, and other veteran guys like Laveranues Coles, LaMont Jordan and Torry Holt are also in the headlines. Read more

Things Looking Up For Earnest Graham?

February 20, 2009

Things Looking Up For Earnest Graham?Buccaneers 29 year old RB Earnest Graham was extremely productive for the first half of the 2008 NFL season, rushing for 563 yards and four TDs through Week 9. He even chipped in and played fullback when the team had injury issues. However, Graham suffered injury issues of his own, missing the team’s final seven games due to ankle surgery. Apparently there’s new hope for him in 2009 - find out why. Read more

Fantasy Impact of Favre’s Retirement

February 11, 2009

Fantasy Impact of Favres RetirementIt feels like Deja Vu all over again, doesn’t it? 11 months ago, Brett Favre retired from the NFL as a member of the Green Bay Packers - a retirement that lasted less than five months. Now, he calls it quits as a member of the New York Jets, and this time he may really be done for good. Read more

Favre & Coles Hot Heading Into The Break…

September 28, 2008

Laveranues Coles hadn’t done much at all heading into Week 4. Not only that, but the Jets were 1-2 and Brett Favre was being accused by many analysts of not wanting to play football at all, especially in New York. All of that is obviously nonsense, as Favre tossed the rock for 289 yards and six TDs at the Meadowlands in Week 4. Read more

Favre Trade Changes The Fantasy Picture…

August 7, 2008

In our second mid-week special edition of the Stock Market Report, the trade that we predicted - Brett Favre to the Jets - has rocked the face of fantasy football in many ways. Had he been dealt to Tampa Bay, it really wouldn’t have made as big of an impact, but check out what one of the best QBs of all time moving to the Big Apple does… Read more

We Called It: Favre Traded To Jets

August 6, 2008

We Called It: Favre Traded To Jets We have to He-Man ourselves on this one and give credit where credit is truly due. One month ago, we predicted that Brett Favre would be traded to the New York Jets. SI’s Peter King recently called this summer’s story the most unpredictable story he’s ever covered, and No-Offseason.com predicted the outcome. Read more

Experts Draft: Galloway Still Has Value?

June 23, 2008

joey-galloway.jpg After a short hiatus from analyzing the most recent expert draft I participated in , it’s time to get right back to it. There are many interesting issues to discuss, namely 37 year old (soon-to-be, anyway) Joey Galloway being taken at the beginning of the round, with names like Donald Driver, Anthony Gonzalez, Jerricho Cotchery and Vincent Jackson still on the board. Laveranues Coles Returns To Practice…

June 5, 2008

30 year old WR Laveranues Coles, who signed a contract extension this off-season with the Jets, has returned to practice after finishing last season on injured reserve with a sprained ankle, and looks pretty darn good going up against 2007 first round pick Darrelle Revis.

Coles has been a consistent but non-sexy fantasy option, however we have a feeling that he could have a breakout year this season. The Jets offense is much improved due to additions on the offensive line, and we think Coles will be the beneficiary.

Plaxico Burress Nursing Several Injuries…

March 30, 2008

Giants WR Plaxico Burress is rehabbing ankle, knee and shoulder injuries this offseason.  The man was extremely banged up last year folks.  Plax may not see much real work, but we wouldn’t worry about him too much.  He’ll be a solid WR2 in 2008.

Michael Strahan, Giants DE
No-Offseason.com
Word is that Strahan and his agent are working on a one-year deal that will keep him in New York through the 2009 season.

James Hardy, Indiana WR
No-Offseason.com
Five teams are reportedly interested in the 6′7″ Hardy - the Broncos, Rams, Eagles, Ravens, Bengals.

Rashard Mendenhall, Illinois RB
No-Offseason.com
Mendenhall has been invited to have private workouts with several NFL teams, including the Cowboys and the Panthers.  Carolina picks 13th and Dallas 22nd and 27th.

Laveranues Coles, Jets WR
No-Offseason.com
The Jets agreed to a new long term deal with Lav Coles, for which the final two seasons are guaranteed.  The 31 year old WR has been one of the more underrated fantasy WRs over the last few seasons, and could be extremely valuable if he stays healthy in 2008.

Marvin Harrison, Colts WR
No-Offseason.com
Colts owner Jim Irsay is saying that Marvin Harrison will be fully healthy by the start of the 2008 season.  Harrison is 35 years old, but prior to knee injuries last season, hadn’t showed signs of slowing down.  The Colts organization remains confident that Harrison will return at full speed in 2008, and fantasy owners taking the gamble on him could be rewarded big time.

Broncos’ Marshall Out Three Months…

March 25, 2008

Brandon Marshall, Broncos WR
Brandon Marshall will now be out at least three months. His injuries are much more severe than originally reported, as he severed several key elements of his arms. He needed surgery.

Laveranues Coles, Jets WR
The 30 year old veteran has decided to report to Jets offseason activities. All seems to be repaired with regards to his contract, and we’re sure a more detailed update will be coming soon.

Chad Johnson, Bengals WR
Bengals head coach Marvin Lewis is saying once again that Chad Johnson will not be traded. Lewis has now resorted to comparing the situation to that of the Lakers and Kobe Bryant. Okay, so maybe Antwan Odom and Dhani Jones = Pau Gasol? Interesting, but this gives us a little more clarity on the situation.

Malcolm Kelly, Oklahoma WR
Word on the street is that Oklahoma’s 6′4″ WR Malcolm Kelly has bad knees that are reason for concern. This could drop him off of many teams draft boards in April. We’ll see what happens.

Pacman Jones, Titans CB
After much buzz late last week, word is that now the Cowboys may be the only team that is legitimately interested in acquiring Titans CB Pacman Jones. As we wrote in our Quick Hits blog, Pacman is likely to be a Cowboy in 2008.

Albert Haynesworth, Titans DT
Titans Albert Haynesworth is unlikely to show up for the team’s offseason workouts prior to the NFL Draft, likely due to his status as the team’s franchise player. Tennessee is so far under the cap, that there’s a chance Haynesworth will work out a long term deal. We don’t expect a hold out just yet.

To Worry? Or Not To Worry?

February 13, 2008

In seasonal leagues, when a player goes down for a long period of time during the middle of the year, or finishes the season on injured reserve, owners must replace that player and almost forget he ever existed.  Dynasty and deep keeper owners are faced with a different dilemma, however.  Long term owners need to constantly pay attention to how their injured players and others bounce back during the NFL offseason.
