Whisenhunt declares Leinart as his starter
March 18, 2010
The News
Cardinals head coach Ken Whisenhunt has declared Matt Leinart as his starting quarterback, according to the Arizona Republic. "Matt's the starter," Whisenhunt said. "That's the way it's going to be."
Our View
This latest quote is a bit strange, considering Whisenhunt said just a week ago that his team would go out and get a quarterback to be in an open competition with Leinart, and Arizona signed Derek Anderson just yesterday. We'd expect Leinart to be the favorite for the job, though he'll still have to earn it by outplaying Anderson in training camp.
