April 23, 2009

Fantasy Impact: Gonzalez To FalconsWithin 48 hours of the start of the 2009 NFL Draft, there have already been some huge moves that will have  significant impact on fantasy football this coming year. Just a couple days after 32 year old veteran WR Torry Holt signed with Jacksonville, the Kansas City Chiefs dealt 33 year old TE Tony Gonzalez to Atlanta. But don’t let the old age fool you - these two can still flat out play. Read more

Not In Kansas (City) Anymore?

February 4, 2009

Not In Kansas (City) Anymore? We’re on the record as saying that Scott Pioli was an absolutely outstanding hire for the Kansas City Chiefs this off-season, but recently it’s become very clear that the new GM has his work cut out for him. Not only does he need to find a new coach ASAP, but two of his top veteran offensive playmakers all of the sudden want out. Read more

Tony Gonzalez Could Be Dealt To Eagles

February 4, 2009

2/4: According to Rototimes, Tony Gonzalez may still seek a trade to leave Kansas City, according to Yahoo! Sports. He said, "I love Kansas City. I really do. If I could stay there, I would. That is why this is going to be a tough decision. We have been rebuilding. It has not really seemed to go well. We won four in 2007 and two this year. It is getting tough. I do not want to make it seem to the fans in Kansas City and to my teammates that I am abandoning them. I hope, I think, they will understand." We could absolutely see Gonzo being traded to Philly on draft day. Find out why.

We Were Right About, We Were Wrong About

September 28, 2008

We Were Right About, We Were Wrong About We’re not always right about everything, but we can say that we’re definitely correct more often than not, and we’re damn good at predicting sleepers (he-man). This week, we said that Saints WRs Lance Moore and Robert Meachem would be worthy of picking up and inserting into line-ups. Find out how Moore, Meachem and others we told you to play or avoid did in Week 4 Read more

Week 4 - Who We Like, Who We Dislike

September 25, 2008

Week 4 - Who We Like, Who We Dislike In spite of the horrible QB situation and absolutely putrid offense in Kansas City, second year receiver Dwayne Bowe has had a very respectable first three games of the season, racking up 15 catches for 182 yards and two TDs. In Week 4, K.C. hosts Denver, who has been in a shootout every week thus far, and veteran Damon Huard could take over for Tyler Thigpen, which would bode well for Bowe’s digits. Read more

Tony Gonzalez Saves Fan’s Life…

July 8, 2008

In the ultimate heroic He-Man effort of the off-season - and perhaps the entire year - Chiefs TE Tony Gonzalez, who participated in the hit TV show “Oprah’s Big Give” as a judge this past spring, performed the Heimlich Maneuver on a man named Ken Hunter, dislodging a piece of steak from his windpipe and allowing him to breathe.

Hunter was choking on a piece of steak at a restaurant where Gonzalez happened to be dining in Huntington Beach, CA - according to Rototimes.com.

Gonzalez told media later that it was a natural instinct to help the man, and ultimately save his life.

The ironic part - apparently Hunter is a Chargers fan! Maybe now he’ll root for the Chiefs - or at least number 88, our He-Man.

Experts Draft: Marvin Falls To Round 6

June 20, 2008

marvin-harrison.jpg One of the biggest questions on the minds of fantasy owners this off-season should honestly be - "when do I swoop in and take Marvin Harrison?" One of the best WRs in recent memory should be available at an all time low price this off-season, after a 2007 campaign riddled with injuries and a 2008 off-season full of off-the-field drama. Still, the 35 year old is a competitor, and will be back to reclaim his spot in fantasy starting line-ups in 2008. Read more
