Sports Card Investment Report

Luka Doncic

Although we are very Bullish on Luka’s cards for long term invest ability, he is a SELL right now. Luka is one of the faces of the NBA, and his card prices reflect that. There is a lot baked into Luka’s prices. However, since the trade bringing Kyrie to Dallas, the Mavericks have gone 8-13 and have fallen form the #6 seed in the West all the way out of the play in games at the 11th seed. With this free fall of the Mavericks, the hobby has taken notice and Luka’s cards are down anywhere from 1% to 20% in the last 30 days. Dallas has 5 games remaining and is currently 1 game back of the 10th playoff spot. Even if they are able to scratch and claw their way into a play in game, with their record during the last month of the season, a deep playoff run is unlikely. If they miss the playoffs or get bounced from the play in game right away, look for Luka’s cards to continue to slide! I think Luka will be a good buy opportunity in the next few months, but wait for his cards to get close to bottom and then but them back in the off season!
