We love ourselves a good “selling marker.” If you’re not familiar with our content, we say “never buy a card without a selling marker in mind.” A selling marker is a time in the future in which you expect a card to reasonably go up in value based on historical data. Believe it or not, one of the most solid and overlooked selling marker each year is the NBA Summer League. What used to be a gloried practice session for undrafted free agents 20 years ago, has evolved into a showcase of not only the top NBA Draft Picks each year, but occasionally second year stars as well. It’s not only sponsored and televised in prime time in July, but it’s featured, advertised, and well attended by fans and even celebrities now.
