Each week on the Sports Card Strategy Show, we talk about the top sports cards to buy now! Buying the right cards at the right time is a critical component to turning profit.

So if you're asking yourself "which sports cards should I buy now?" - read below to not miss any opportunities!

1. Franz Wagner: 2021 Optic Holo PSA 10

The first player we’re discussing today is Orlando Magic forward and former 2021 1st-round pick, Franz Wagner. Since entering the league, Wagner has proven to be a pivotal point in the Magic’s rebuilding process, including a sophomore campaign where he posted nearly 18 points per game while showcasing the ability to space the floor and free up opportunities for teammates. We like Wagner’s upside as a 6’10 scorer with plenty of skill moves to continue to translate well in the NBA. Despite a strong start to the 2023-24 season, Wagner’s card market is in a slight depression, with several cards sitting at an opportunistic valuation. His 2021 Optic Holo is down 61% over the last 30 days, making this $100 card able to be purchased for less than $40. While Wagner is someone we still consider a flier, this discount presents a good buying opportunity for those able to snap this print below market value. Look to pick these up and sell if the Magic can make an In-Season Tournament push or Wagner can get traded to a contender if the team decides to move in the direction of veteran leadership to help some of the young talent.

Was wondering what your guys thoughts on buying autos from leaf exotic, wild card mania etc. These cards are low numbered and look really cool with different parallels like peacock, elephant, zebra and more. I realize they are unlicensed, but is a great way to get a cool looking auto at a good price. Tx and love the show.

      Hey Brett,
Thanks for the question, man. I also appreciate your support. Great question. The answer from my perspective is to avoid these. They’re tempting, but not investable at all. If you love a design and want it as artwork, that’s cool, but there’s no way I’d sign off on any of these as a play.
