Marcelo Mayer is a prospect that has been on some radars for a while due to him being the 4th overall pick by the Boston Red Sox in the 2021 MLB draft. Mayer is currently ranked as the Red Sox #1 overall prospect and is the #5 overall prospect in baseball according to MLBPipeline.com. Mayer is continuing to increase the speed of the hype train by getting off to a great start in 20223. Mayer started the season at High A but has since been moved up to AA. Currently, Mayer has a combined .261 average, with 9 HR and 40 RBI’s. There is excitement behind this prospect as he continues to perform at every level he has played at. Look for Mayer’s card value to continue to increase.
