It is tough to pick raw cards. I’ve heard you talk about looking at the card and reading the description but I had a professional seller tell me that grading raw isn’t as profitable as it used to be. Do you have any other advice on how to do this well? I’ve been going through the school and I’m trying to buy and grade for the first time to try this out.
Hey Jared,
Thanks for watching and commenting. Buying raw and grading is tough, but it has the highest upside. “It’s not as profitable as it used to be” is true, but relative. Buying raw and grading in 2020 was extremely profitable, then it almost completely went away in 2021 due to the PSA backlog. It is now back and very strong, but PSA 9s sell for Raw or less, which makes it a challenge. You have to be good at pregrading and picking the right cards, which is why we built Sports Card School and The Formula. Ask any specific questions here and I’ll answer – https://nooffseason.com/ask.
Thanks!
